Children of Peace International
Binh Rybacki, Executive Director of Children of Peace International, left Vietnam in 1975 under evacuation by the American government in the last days before the fall of Saigon to the Communist regime. In 1993, Binh returned to Vietnam to locate her family only to be confronted with a disturbing reality in the streets of Vietnam. She found children working as beggars, street peddlers, and prostitutes. Children of Peace International established 4 orphanages in Vietnam to care for these children known as "Children of the Dust." Children of Peace also created Operation Bootstrap in an effort to allow single mothers the opportunity to support their children without abandoning them at the orphanages. Children of Peace provides medical care to children in Viet Tri and South Vietnam, and is working to place many of the orphans in adoptive homes in the U.S. and Europe.
